Here we are with the first calendar wicket from Agile Santa reminding us that "feedback is a wonderful thing"
🎄 Feedback is a gift
🎄 The more feedback you receive the more you grow
🎄 Ask for feedback, it's free
🎄 Be aware: Not all feedback needs to be accepted
🎄 Decide if the received feedback fits with your model or not
So one of the greatest tips that I've received when the elves whispered into my ear is: "Feedback is a wonderful thing" and as you're coming to the end of the year, now as you're coming through December, it's a good time, when we're thinking of happy thoughts and warm fires and sunshine and barbecues, I suppose, if you're in the southern hemisphere. It's a good time to sit down with your friends and with your colleagues and collect some feedback remember feedback is a gift and the more you receive the more you grow. So please go out there sit down, have a nice open safe conversation with your colleagues. Collect some feedback, if they don't want feedback from you that's fine. There's no problem with it just being one way because it's your opportunity to grow. It's your gift from them to you. So collect that feedback, sit down, reflect on it. One of the elves said, when he has those sessions, he just writes them all down and then has a little quiet time at the end of the day or the end of the feedback sessions, he's done, and just reflects on them. One tip from Santa is: Not all feedback needs to be accepted. You have to decide whether this fits with your model or not sometimes people don't like things that you do but you believe it's the right thing this is a good opportunity to reflect on whether it is the right thing for you but maybe it's not to just still take that gift and use it to your advantage to have a better 2023 than you had 2022.
Agile Santa has agreed to exclusively present his wisdom and advice with humor to all agilists in the world this year via piplanning.io.
